The Sports Authority of India (SAI), a successor organization of the IXth Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982, was set up as a Society registered of Societies Act, 1860 in pursuance of the Resolution No. 1-1/83/SAI dated 25th January 1984 of the Department of Sports, Govt. of India with the objective of promotion of Sports and Games as detailed in the Resolution.

Army Sports Institute
On July 1, 2001 Army Sports Institute was established to tap vast talent pool of sportsmen serving in the Army and young talented boys (Boys Sports Company Scheme) of our country under “Mission Olympics Programme". It is the first Sports Academy in India to change the face of sporting culture in India which is located in heart of Pune.

Mizoram Football Association
Mizoram Football Association (MFA) is the state governing body of football in Mizoram, India. It is affiliated with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the national governing body. Mizoram Football enthusiasts started Aizawl Sport Association in 1945. It was re- established again in 1956 under leadership of Sangliana. After 1972, the name was changed from Aizawl Sport Association to Mizoram Sports Association.
In 1973 under the guidance o f Shri Lal Thanhawla, Football started as a separate unit and took the name Mizoram Football Association. MFA was registered under Society Act in the year 1980. MFA is operating for the State Mizoram covers 8 District. All the 8 District Football Associations affiliate under MFA.
